Maximizing Your Child's School Experience / COMO ELEVAR LA EXPERIENCIA ESCOLAR DE SU HIJO/A (Article)
The workshop focused on routines and the importance of routines at home. We discussed ways to create one and offered an example of a bedtime routine and what it can look like. We discussed the importance of sleep and how sleep can affect mood and behaviors of the child. We provided research-based time durations that children need to have a healthy development. We also focused on screen time, how it affects the development of a child and the importance of limiting the time they have throughout the day. We provided examples of activities that parents can do with the child rather than utilizing the screen. The workshop was provided in two languages on two different days in order to cover the same topics to our diverse community. Lastly, we discussed the importance of potty training and how parents and teachers can work together to achieve independence in the classroom.
