The Week of the Young Child
April 13th – April 17th, 2026
During Week of the Young Child, our students participated in a variety of engaging and meaningful activities that celebrated learning through music, wellness, teamwork, creativity, and family involvement. On Music Monday, students sang, danced and explored rhythm by creating musical instruments using recyclable materials while proudly displaying 3D recycled art projects and decorated pinwheels throughout the school. Tasty Tuesday focused on healthy habits as students enjoyed nutritious snacks and explored connections between health, math, literacy, and science. During Working Together Wednesday, our 4-year-old students collaborated with younger peers to model teamwork, problem-solving, and positive social interactions. Artsy Thursday encouraged creativity through art exploration and visits to the school’s 3D exhibition. The Science Fair in the multipurpose room provided hands-on learning at different stations where the students explored experimenting with mixing primary colors using paint or water, learning about our five senses, building and engineering, light and shadows, recycling, and volcano eruptions just to name a few. The week concluded with Family Friday: Books and Breakfast, where family members visited classrooms to share the joy of reading with students, strengthening the home-school connection.
